- March 23, 2009 - Pinelands Commission Considers Revisions to Boundaries of Pinelands Management Areas…. The Pinelands Commission is holding meetings to discuss a recent study, called the Ecological Integrity Assessment. The Assessment evaluates the current status of the Pinelands ecology. The Pinelands Commission is using the results of the assessment to consider changes in the Pinelands Management Areas. - February 26, 2009 - Lesniak Bill Would Make Changes in Affordable Housing Laws…. A bill (S-2485) sponsored by Sen. Raymond J. Lesniak (D-Union) that would exempt certain non-residential development projects from a 2.5 percent fee to fund affordable housing was approved 12-0 today by the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee. Current law imposes a 2.5 percent non-residential development fee on certain projects to provide funding for the construction of affordable housing. The bill would exempt projects from the fee through July 2010. The bill had previously been approved by the Senate Economic Growth Committee and now goes to the full Senate for consideration. - June 16, 2008 – NJDEP adopts amendments to Surface Water Quality Standards, including new Category One Waters…. The Department adopted amendments to the Surface Water Quality Standards (N.J.A.C. 7:9B) that include new Category One upgrades as well as a revised definition of "Category One waters" and new definitions for the terms "exceptional ecological significance", "exceptional fisheries resource(s)", and "exceptional water supply significance".
